One of the most renowned modern researchers and masters of pysanka art was Taras Horodetskyi (1964–2006). Originally from Lviv Oblast, he was an engineer by education but became fascinated with the art of pysanka painting in the early 1990s. He quickly gained recognition as one of Ukraine’s and the world’s most distinguished pysanka artists. His works stand out for their uniqueness, rich traditional symbolism, and exceptional craftsmanship. For nearly 15 years, Taras created his exquisite pysanky, which found homes across the world. Given his dedication and hard work, it is estimated that he produced several thousand pysanky in total.

The image for this puzzle is based on the design of a pysanka from the book "The World of Pysanky by Taras Horodetskyi", compiled by pysanka artist Vira Manko. Some elements of the original design were adapted specifically for this puzzle while preserving its authenticity and symbolic meaning.
For centuries, pysanky have been created as protective talismans, painted with families during Easter, and used to teach children about the significance of colors and symbols. Alongside this tradition, new ways of introducing children to the art of pysanka-making are emerging—one of them is assembling this wooden puzzle. It is more than just a game; it is an engaging way to explore cultural heritage. It is an opportunity to share the story of Ukraine, its ancient traditions, and to show that the pysanka is not only a symbol of Easter but also a significant part of Ukrainian culture.
