Yurii Zhuravel is a multifaceted Ukrainian artist: painter, musician, composer, poet, director, actor, leader of the band OT VINTA, public figure, and warrior. He is the author of the cultural and educational project “Know Ours” about prominent Ukrainians, the comics “Mazepa. A Step Toward the Truth” and “Battles for the Native Land”, the two-volume caricature album “Karykadurka” (2014–2016, more than one thousand works), as well as the graphic collection “Storitsia. A Chronicle of the War in Drawings” (2022–2024). His work is always at the center of socio-political events. More than 60 of his caricatures decorated the barricades of the Maidan, supporting the protesters during winter of 2013–2014, and in February 2014 they were burned by the Berkut (special police force that was dissolved after the Revolution of Dignity victory). As a volunteer and artist, he has performed for soldiers on the front line, created portraits of defenders, and in 2025 he himself joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Pantheon of Heroes" is a majestic graphic painting in which Yuriy Zhuravel embodies the continuous heroic tradition of Ukrainian warriors. Side by side it depicts defenders of different eras: from Scythians and Sarmatians, warriors of the princely age and Cossack leaders, to participants of the liberation struggles of 1918–1924, fighters of the Second World War, and today’s defenders of Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The work symbolizes the continuity of the Ukrainian struggle for freedom and independence, creating a spiritual temple of memory and respect. "Pantheon of Heroes" is not just a work of art, but a patriotic manifesto that reminds us: the history of Ukraine is a history of the unconquered.
